Review: Call My Crazy by Melanie Harlow (Bellamy Creek #3)

Melanie Harlow takes readers back to her Bellamy Creek series with a marriage-of-convenience romance between two thirty-somethings from nosy but well-meaning Italian-American families. Call Me Crazy may be read as a standalone, but do yourselves a favor and read the first two novels in the series, Drive Me Wild and Make Me Yours, because they're wonderfully written romances and because there are recurring characters and the real potential for spoilers regarding the stories of the first two couples.

Call Me Crazy finds Enzo Moretti in dire need of a wife, no thanks to his father's directive that he would only pass on the reins to Moretti & Sons, the family-owned construction business, if Enzo were married by the time he's thirty-five. With the clock ticking and his first marriage proposal rejected, thirty-four-year-old Enzo is getting desperate--desperate enough that he takes up Bianca DeRossi's offer of help. It would be a mutually beneficial arrangement: marriage in exchange for Enzo fathering Bianca's baby, a baby she's rushing to have because at thirty-two, time is of the essence. They've got rules in place: no kissing, no telling other people, and no falling in love. Well, rules are made to be broken.

Goodness, but this was a fun one! From the moment these two characters were introduced in the series, I knew they were not only going to end up together, but that the journey to a happily-ever-after would be a highly entertaining one. After all, Enzo and Bianca were experts at pushing each other's buttons. Then there was the fact that their families have been friends for decades, making the whole marriage aspect of the story an interesting one. And can I just say that Enzo's grand gesture and the epilogue are among my all-time favorites ever written by Melanie Harlow?! Gah! Call Me Crazy gets five stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
