Book Spotlight: One Little Dare by Whitney Barbetti

One Little Dare by Whitney Barbetti Date Released: July 29, 2020
About One Little Dare Truth or dare? I always choose a dare. And no matter the dare, I always follow through.
Even if it means walking down a busy street in my bathrobe and hair curlers.
Or recreating that iconic When Harry Met Sally deli scene while on a crowded subway.
Or hitting on a handsome stranger in a bar.
And then … marrying that stranger. While in Vegas.
But the one thing I’m not supposed to do is fall in love with this man.
That wasn’t part of the dare.
Only my heart never got that memo.

Review: One Little Dare by Whitney Barbetti

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions.
Whitney Barbetti is an author whose work totally clicks with me because she more than satisfies my angst addiction in the books I read. Her newest release, however, is a change of pace as she's giving readers a romantic comedy. Now, I'm not someone who only looks for books with heavier themes or feels to them. I love a well-written rom-com, and Barbetti offers up just that in One Little Dare. Tori is our female main character and she's someone who never resists a dare. She'll do whatever she's dared to, no matter the circumstances and without thought to any possible consequences. After all, what sort of consequence could come from hitting on a stranger in a bar? Nothing right? Well, what about when you end up marrying that very same stranger while in Vegas? Ummm... Daring not to fall in love with that stranger (whose name is Liam), though... Well, Tori never could say &…

Book Spotlight: Ritual by Kandi Steiner

Ritual (Palm South University #5) by Kandi Steiner Date Released: July 30, 2020
About Ritual Written like your favorite drama television show, the Palm South University series has been called "a mix of Greek meets Gossip Girl with a dash of Friends." Follow seven college students as they maneuver unrequited love, teacher/student romance, the tangles of “no strings” relationships, love triangles and more. Each “season” has six “episodes,” and just like when your favorite show hits Netflix, you can read just one episode at a time or binge the entire thing. With the perfect mix of angst, emotional romance, and romantic comedy, the Palm South University series is your next guilty addiction.
Drama. Lies. Sex.
Welcome to Palm South University.
The weather isn’t the only thing heating up in South Florida. At a school where fraternities and sororities don’t exactly play by the rules, relationships are bound to be tested. Parties and sex are definitely key ingredients in the Palm South reci…

Review: Ritual by Kandi Steiner (Palm South University #5)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR.
Fair warning: the Palm South University series is highly addictive AND you're going to have to read the books in order (but hey, reading the five currently available books will be worth your time because, again, the series is ADDICTIVE!). If you're a fan of memorable television series like Gossip Girl, The O.C., and Greek, then this book series may be right up your alley. Presented like an actual TV series, each book is a "season" comprised of six "episodes" featuring Cassie, Adam, Bear, Jess, Skyler, Erin, and Ashlei, with all the drama set in a private university located in a small beach town.

Writing a review is difficult without giving away details that will pretty much end up being all spoiler-like if you've never read the books. Because the series is written like a television show, not every story line is resolved, especially since there are still future books slated …

One Hot Italian Summer by Karina Halle Release Date: July 30, 2020
July 29, 2020 (early release)
About One Hot Italian Summer After the death of her best friend and writing partner, Grace Harper is struggling both with grief, and with her next novel, the first one she’ll have to write alone.
Fortunately, her new powerhouse agent, the formidable Jana Lee, has a solution for her. She can stay at her villa in Tuscany for a month, soak in the sunshine, relax, and find her confidence again. After all, Jana has a lot riding on Grace’s next book, and the last thing she wants is for her reputation as a “super-agent” to be tarnished.
At first the villa is a dream come true for Grace – that is until Claudio Romano shows up one day with his ten-year old son, Vanni, in tow. Turns out, this is Claudio’s house, and Claudio happens to be her agent’s ex-husband from long ago. Thanks to their annual father and son bonding trip being cancelled, Claudio and Vanni are here to stay.
So is Grace.
With the three…

Review: One Hot Italian Summer by Karina Halle

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.
When it comes to imagery, Karina Halle is among a select few who does it so impeccably that it's almost as if you're in the same place as her characters, seeing what they see, hearing what they hear, experiencing what they experience, and feeling what they feel. With her latest novel, Halle takes readers to Italy and introduces us to an author named Grace Harper grieving the loss of her longtime writing partner and best friend while trying to come to grips with her writer's block as she attempts to write her first solo novel. Her powerhouse agent, Jana Lee, recommends a trip to Italy, even offering up her own villa for a month in hopes to inspire Grace's writing mojo. Grace thought she'd have to villa to herself, but the arrival of single father Claudio Romano and his ten-year-old son, Vanni, has her sharing space with them. Over the summer, Grace grows closer to the father and his son, but this Italia…
