Review: Bliss by Kaylee Ryan (Entangled Hearts #2)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions.

Waiting for the conclusion to the Entangled Hearts duet had me all kinds of anxious, and to be honest, the wait between books wasn't all that long but I'm not exactly known for my patience, so... Anyway, wait I did, and goodness, but how Kaylee Ryan made the wait worthwhile. A quick note: Agony, which is the first book in the duet, MUST be read BEFORE Bliss, which is the second and final book. Book one ends with a cliffhanger and the story picks up in book two. You can't read one without the other.

Bliss continues the story that left all readers at a standstill at the end of Agony. Reese Latham is about to walk down the aisle, and it's not towards Cooper Reeves, the boy who was her constant--her best friend and the one who owned her heart for far longer than was good for her peace of mind. He made some startling pronouncements during the wedding rehearsal, but was it nothing more than the fear of losing Reese's friendship that pushed him to say what he did, or could Coop's confession truly be everything that Reese once hoped for but now too little, too late?

I pretty much knew how things would generally play out in this book. It went without saying that Cooper and Reese would finally get their long-awaited happily-ever-after, but the road to getting there was not easy. I appreciated Reese's hesitation, especially after the hurt that she went through after Cooper's rejection in the first book. Kudos to Cooper for being patient and giving her what she needed even when he wanted to push. I confess that there's still a part of me that feels badly for Garrett, who was really needs his own happy ending because he was a good guy who simply loved someone who didn't love him back the same way. Ah, all the feels! Five stars for Bliss.
