Review: Forsaken Trail by Devney Perry (Runaway #4)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR. There's something special about this series. Maybe it's the idea of a group of five women passing a very special automobile from one of them to the other, moving from one state to the next until the car is returned to its rightful owner--the sole guy among the six teenagers who called a junkyard back in California home for a couple of years. Maybe it's that every book has featured a different story line between the main couple, yet everyone remains tied to each other through love and friendship. Or maybe it's simply the fact that Devney Perry is as gifted as she is, and somehow, her Runaway  series, like those that came before it, know the way to my heart, tugging at my heartstrings every single time. It started with Runaway Road , continued with Wild Highway , and then with Quarter Miles . Now, we make our way towards Arizona with an enemies-to-lovers tale in Forsaken Trail . Thirty-year-o

Sheriff's Secret (Brigs Ferry Bay #1) by K Webster Release Date: December 29, 2020 About Sheriff's Secret The past was all he could see...until him.  When you're the sheriff of Brigs Ferry Bay, certain things are expected of you. Marry a local girl, settle down, have a few kids. You know, the small-town dream. But I've got a secret I'm terrified will get out. I'm gay. Not bi. Not curious. Not confused. Just gay. So, settling for that dream won't be happening. If this secret gets out, the people I serve and protect, especially my father, won't be accepting.   I'm not brave like my high school sweetheart, Kian. The day he came out was the day I had to let him go, and with it, love. I've done a great job of pretending I'm perfectly fine being single. Until a villainous and annoyingly charming new B&B owner, Dante Kincaid, rolls into town. The spark between us is electric and undeniable. He wants to give me a taste of w

Review: Sheriff's Secret by K Webster (Brigs Ferry Bay #1)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Grey's Promotions. I've been looking forward to the Brigs Ferry Bay series ever since I heard about it. I foolishly thought that the series starter, Sheriff's Secret , was K Webster's initial venture into M/M romance. Yeah, I found out just how wrong I was when I got to the end of the book and read the author's other M/M titles. I literally smacked my head. That's what I get for assuming, but at least that means I get to add said titles to my never-ending to-be-read list. After reading Sheriff's Secret , it's clear Webster does well with this sub-genre, as well. When Jaxson Bell chose to keep his sexuality a secret, he knew it would mean having to lose the one boy he loved: Kian Abrams. Not only did he lose his boyfriend, but he lost his best friend during that high school graduation of theirs because Kian was one and the same. Now twenty-nine, Jaxson is sheriff of their small homet

Review: Fake Friends by Saxon James (Never Just Friends #2)

Image
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Gay Romance Reviews Tours & Promo. I've been waiting oh-so-patiently for this second Never Just Friends novel ever since I finished reading the series starter, Just Friends . From friends-to-lovers, Saxon James now gives readers an enemies-to-lovers romance, although the main characters started off as friends who had more than platonic feelings for each other but then everything imploded. For the record, you don't necessarily need to read the first book in order to enjoy or understand what happens in this second book; however, because I quite adored Just Friends , I highly and happily recommend you check it out before heading into  Fake Friends , especially if you want to avoid spoilers when it comes to book one's main couple. Fake Friends is the story of twenty-three-year-old Kelly "Circus" Atkins, social media influencer, and twenty-four-year-old Rowan Harvey, cook at his family's din
