Review: I'll Be Your Santa Tonight by Dr. Rebecca Sharp (Country Love #5)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions.

Holiday romances abound, and while I'm happy that the ones I've read so far this year brought a smile to my face, I confess that only a couple have really stood out and left me with major book hangovers. Well, add Rebecca Sharp's newest Country Love book to that list because I'll Be Your Santa Tonight was everything I could have wanted in a holiday romance. A quick note: While this may be part of an ongoing series, it IS a standalone, just like the four books that came before it. So if you're new to Sharp or the series, you can easily pick this new book up and not feel lost or as if you are missing anything vital.

I'll Be Your Santa Tonight introduces readers to Holly Jolly (I dare you not to sing that particular lyric!) and Saint Nicholsen, and you'd think that with such Christmasy-sounding names, these two would be feeling the holiday spirit throughout. Well, not Holly. She isn't quite Scrooge, but she certainly shows Grinch-like signs (minus the green tint). So, what is a Christmas-hating pastry architect doing creating a gingerbread house for the Fairmont in San Francisco? Will the hot Christmas-loving hotel manager be able to melt her heart and convince her that the magic of the season goes far beyond December?

With lots of wit and humor plus a pinch of angst, this holiday romance fit the bill when it came to being exactly what I needed today. I loved the chemistry between Holly and Saint and how everything happened in a short period of time, yet never felt as if the story was being rushed. The Fairmont reminded me of the hotels my family and I would go to during the Christmas season when I was growing up, so that bit of nostalgia really touched me. Everything just flowed so well in this book, and all I had to do was sit back and enjoy every single bit of this sweet story. I'll Be Your Santa Tonight receives five stars.
