Review: A Rogue to Remember by Emily Sullivan (League of Scoundrels #1)

Image
I am a self-confessed bookaholic, one who happens to also nudge and badger into checking out books that I happen to love in hopes that they'll fall in love with them too. Maybe that's why I have family and friends who call me a "book pimp", especially since I have a book blog and all, reviewing and talking about the books that I've come across. Inasmuch as I enjoy bugging people to read more--and not just romance, although this blog IS mostly about that genre--I happen to also like it when people (not in general...more of fellow readers) recommend books they think I should give some love to. Even better? When they gift me a book that I end up absolutely adoring, leaving me smitten, and that's precisely what happened when my bestie gave me A Rogue to Remember , a historical romance and the debut release of award-winning author Emily Sullivan. And did I happen to mention this is the first in the League of Scoundrels series, which means there's more awesomene

My True Love (The Steeles at Silver Island #2) by Melissa Foster Release Date: March 31, 2021 About My True Love Can a man who resents the hand he’s been dealt and a woman who spends her days grateful for every little thing find true love in each other’s arms—or are their differences stronger than both of them? Find out in this funny, sexy, heartfelt romance, and fall in love with Grant and Jules on the sandy shores of Silver Island, home to coffee shops, boat races, and midnight rendezvous. Even war heroes need a little help sometimes… After spending years fighting for his country and too damn long learning to navigate life with a prosthetic leg, Grant Silver returns to Silver Island to figure out a future he couldn’t fathom without fatigues and a gun in his hand. He’d almost forgotten how a man could suffocate from the warmth and caring community in which he’d grown up, and if that weren’t bad enough, his buddies’ beautiful and far-too-chipper younger sister wo

Review: My True Love by Melissa Foster (The Steeles at Silver Island #2)

Image
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author. Melissa Foster has surpassed all my expectations with this second novel in her Steeles at Silver Island series! The eldest among this branch of the family, Jock Steele, has already gotten his happily-ever-after, and now, we've got the youngest of the brood. Twenty-five-year-old Jules Steele is her family's brightest light--the one who always sees the good, with enough love to share with her immediate family, her dearest friends, and the rest of the close-knit community of Silver Island. She has an abundance of proverbial happy dust to sprinkle around, but it could take more than that to entice her best friend's brother out of the deep, dark, lonely hole he prefers to stay in ever since he came back to Silver Island.  Thirty-three-year-old Grant Silver has lost his sense of purpose along with his leg while working with a civilian contractor after leaving the military. All he wants is to be left alone, but Jul

Release Blitz: The Quiet House by Lily Morton

The Quiet House (Black & Blue #2) by Lily Morton Date Released: March 26, 2021 About The Quiet House Levi Black has mostly recovered from the events of a year ago. The only lingering effects are that he’s much more well known in York than he’d like to be, and he’s a lot more cautious about walking around his house naked. However, those events brought him the capricious and fascinating Blue, so he’s not complaining. On the contrary, he’s happy, in love, and looking forward to Blue finally moving in with him. And if sometimes he wonders what Blue sees in a boring cartoonist, he keeps that to himself. Blue Billings is finally ready to throw off the memories of his past and move in with the person who means the most in the world to him. His psychic abilities have grown in the last year to his mentor Tom's consternation, but Blue is determined to look on the bright side. He’s also focused on ignoring all the warning signs that he’s received lately. However, ev

Release Blitz: Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg

Hard to Lose (Play Hard #4) by K. Bromberg Release Date: March 30, 2021 About Hard to Lose New York Times  bestselling author K. Bromberg brings you a romance about love, forgiveness, and living every day to the fullest. I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot — but it’ll be good press just letting him try out. That’s what I tell my family, rather than admit I can’t get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head. But what I tell the bartender in his hometown is a lie. I know veterans protect each other. So I pretend to be a graduate student. Sparks. Flame. Fire. I accidentally got in too deep. I didn’t expect to develop feelings for Gunner Camden. And there’s no way I can admit to my lies now, not without destroying what we share. So I’ll keep faking it. *  *  *  There are two versions of me: before and after deployment. Back then I was a screwup kid. I’d lie, cheat, and steal my way out of everything. My only love

Review: Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg (Play Hard #4)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR. "You're a hard one to corral, Chase Kincade. From the moment I met you, you told me that love wasn't your thing. That kisses are overrated. That being with someone wasn't on your oh-so-busy agenda." He chuckles with the slightest shake of his head. "But somehow I proved you otherwise. Somehow, I was able to break through that very motivated brain of yours and show you that you can still be you  with you aspirations and ambition while loving me ." It needs to be said: We need more Ryan Gunner Camdens in the world! K. Bromberg has created quite a few memorable male main characters, but there was just something about Gunner that makes him such a standout. Readers can get to know and fall in love with the guy by way of Bromberg's fourth novel in her Play Hard  series, and he's paired with the one Kincade sister who's still single: Chase Kincade, who also happens
