Review: Together by Jennifer Van Wyk

Jennifer Van Wyk certainly knows how to give me my small-town romance fix! Together is her latest standalone, and it's set in the town of Liberty, Michigan, which should be familiar to fans and readers of Van Wyk's work. Having said that, you don't need to read anything else in order to fully appreciate and enjoy this new romance, which is about two people who have a drunken one-night stand that has a more memorable morning after that leaves them with a lasting impression full of promise...and unplanned parenthood!

Thirty-five-year-old Nikolas Warner and thirty-three-year-old Ashley Porter thought they'd be engaged by now. Not to each other. No, these two were strangers who are trying to drown their sorrows in a bar. Misery loves company, and several hours of sharing each other's company leaves them wanting more. However, starting something on the heels of their respective relationships having just ended wouldn't be wise. Maybe some time to reflect would be a good idea. They promise to look each other up three months down the line. But then Fate--and a surprise pregnancy--has them changing their plans...together.

From the moment Ashley and Nik meet, I was hooked! I was absolutely smitten with these two. They clicked in a way that people who are meant to be together click, and while whatever plans they may have had for themselves as individuals meant some upheaval, I appreciated that there wasn't too much drama. Well, not counting Ashley's family, particularly one of her sisters, Grace. There's always that one person in the fam... Speaking of family, can I just say that I adored Nik's sister, Josie?! I wondered if she and her husband, Dean, already had a book. If they do, let me know in the comments; if they don't...paging, Jennifer Van Wyk! Either way, I need more of this! Together gets 4.5 stars.
