Review: Loving Love by Jessica Frances (In Midsummer #7)

Oh, wow. This book wasn't what I was expecting it to be. IT WAS SO MUCH MORE! Gaaah! The In Midsummer series was my introduction to Jessica Frances's writing, and I've been  fan from the first book onwards. So, it's honestly rather heartbreaking that with the release of Loving Love, which is the seventh book, we bid adieu to the awesomely entertaining town of Midsummer, Arkansas and its quirky collection of residents. But if I had to choose a way to close this wonderfully addictive series, THIS is how I would do it.

Loving Love is Love Fuller's much awaited story, and it's a second-chance romance she shares with Rian Green, aka Sheriff Rocky Green's younger sister. It's been seventeen years since Rian left Midsummer without a word of goodbye to anyone. Returning to her hometown after nearly decades won't be easy, not when she's barely kept in touch with her two brothers, Rocky and Reed, and her best friend--the girl whose heart she broke alongside her own--Love. Rekindling their friendship won't be easy, not when it's obvious Love doesn't trust Rian. Will it take a life-or-death situation for them to realize that the past needs to be kept in the past, especially when any sort of future may be taken away?

I've adored Love from the moment she and Conner Green nee Sherwood hit it off in the series starter, Stranded. When Conner got his happily-ever-after with Rocky, I wanted the same thing for Love; so when Jessica Frances announced that my favorite intrepid investigative journalist was going to get her own book, well, I was a happy camper. I seriously loved the mystery and suspense aspects here as much as I did seeing Love and Rian rekindle their friendship and romance and having the Midsummer folk embrace Rian back into the fold. Reading Loving Love was bittersweet but so satisfying. Five stars!
