Review: Something About You by J. Nathan

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Grey's Promotions. "I don't need to try to be other people's idea of pretty. I just need to be me. Someone will love me for me." J. Nathan is one of my favorite go-to authors, and for good reason. Her writing has proven to be consistent and rather impeccable as far as I'm concerned. I've yet to come across a story and characters of hers that haven't resonated with me in one form or another. Her latest college romance has the makings of a fabulous series starter--and yes, maybe there's a bit of wishful thinking on my end since I haven't heard if this is really the first in a new series, but hope springs eternal! Nathan's given readers a great cast of characters which includes supporting characters who I absolutely need to get to know more about! Something About You is a romance with enemies-to-lovers slash opposites attract vibes to it. Eighteen-year-old Shay Miller is a

Breach of Contract (NashVegas #2) by Laramie Briscoe Release Date: June 12, 2021 About Breach of Contract Everett James Thompson  Known for my charismatic stage presence and being the oldest son of music royalty, I’ve always been able to do exactly what I want. Front my own band? Become one of the powerhouses in the metal genre? Make a name for myself without using that of my parents? I’ve done all of it. But when Brianna Jenkins walked into my life during a Vegas show, I knew without a doubt my carefully laid plans were over.  Getting married to her after a drunken night of debauchery should’ve been the worst mistake of my life. Instead? It’s the best decision I’ve ever made, and our record company thinks so too. Or they did… Brianna Jenkins Thompson I’ve traveled the world, performed at Madison Square Garden, and sold out arenas everywhere. Nothing ever really made me nervous. That is, until I met EJ Thompson in Vegas. I needed liquid courage to talk to him, and that night c

Review: Breach of Contract by Laramie Briscoe (NashVegas #2)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions. Laramie Briscoe returns to her NashVegas series with the much awaited second book--one that I thought was the conclusion because I thought this was a duet. I swear, when I read the series starter, my understanding was this was going to be a duet, but it turns out that this is a trilogy. Not sure if that was a choice made while book two was being written or if that was the plan all along, but yeah, three books. So, I may be a wee bit frustrated, but such is life as a reader. Luckily, Briscoe has proven to be the sort of author who makes the wait between books in a series well worth it, so I shall endeavor to be patient. Breach of Contract picks up soon after where Power Couple left off. This is where I'm going to recommend that you stop reading this review if you've yet to read the series starter. The NashVegas  series has a continuing story line focused on one particular couple--Eve

Adrift (Haven Island #2) by Isabel Jolie Date Released: June 8, 2021 About Adrift I can be your dream girl…for a price… Ever heard of Only Fans ? It’s not my ideal job, but it pays the bills. It’s even made me somewhat of a celebrity. My subscribers love my provocative shots, and I’m oh-so-good at teasing them. Then he shows up in my small town and complicates everything. See, Mr. Green-Eyed Gazillionaire is so far out of my league it’s ridiculous. We’re polar opposites. That doesn’t change the fact that even though I’m a fantasy to most men, I only want to be his reality. But nothing real can ever happen between us. Logically, I know that. Too bad logic and I have never had anything but a passing acquaintance. Because now, if I’m not careful, I’m afraid this sexy billionaire will smash my poor, pathetic heart into oblivion… A delicious hot billionaire romance featuring two polar opposites adrift on a resort island with a small-town atmosphere, right of the coast of

Review: Adrift by Isabel Jolie (Haven Island #2)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Xpresso Book Tours. Adrift is the second novel in the Haven Island series by Isabel Jolie, and it's left me feeling a wee bit...adrift. This can be read independently of the series starter, Rogue Wave . Penelope Smith and Gabriel Chesterton, aka Poppy and Gabe, are the main characters, and their story begins with a chance meeting that leads to Poppy divulging an interesting tidbit about herself to Gabe--she has an OnlyFans page. Her subscribers love the content she offers (for a fee, of course), and Gabe's curiosity is piqued. These two are opposites; he's a billionaire and she's got bills--lots of them--which is why she made the decision to do OnlyFans . He's interested, but she knows all too well that the two of them cannot last. Isabel Jolie can write, of that there is no question on my end. After all, I did enjoy Rogue Wave , as well as Lost on the Way , which was my first read from Jolie. Th

Review: Remember Arizona by Dr. Rebecca Sharp (Country Love #7)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions. Dr. Rebecca Sharp takes readers back to her Country Love series with the seventh installment. Remember Arizona is a second-chance AND estranged-friends-to-fake-lovers-to-the-real-thing romance, and yes, it's set in Arizona, specifically the small town of Bisbee, which turns out to be an honest-to-goodness real place! I love it when I make little discoveries like that via Google while reading a book. Like the books before it, this seventh Country Love tale can very much be read independently of any of the other ones. Tally Kerr and Sam Deschenes had been best friends for forever, and forever was exactly what Tally had hoped to have with the boy she had fallen in love with. Then Sam broke her heart, which resulted in a decade-long separation. She went on to live her life in New York, but now, she's back in their hometown of Bisbee, Arizona for an art exhibit she's curating--th
