Review: Wild Love by Rebecca Jenshak (Campus Nights #4)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Grey's Promotions.

I couldn't have chosen a better way to close out what's proven to be a really great hockey romance series. Wild Love is the fourth and final novel in the Campus Nights series, Rebecca Jenshak did not disappoint! This is Johnny Maverick's story, one that he shares with none other than Dakota Lawrence. Maverick's made the decision to forego the last two years of college and signed with the Minnesota Wildcats. He's going to miss Valley U, his college teammate, and especially, his tight-knit circle of friends. But one friend he isn't going to miss is Kota, and that's because she's scored a internship with Mav's team. Interning for a team in the NHL is a big deal for her, and spending time with Mav over the summer is a definite bonus, especially when they become roomies. All she has to do is abide by one essential rule: No dating players. Could Maverick be worth Dakota breaking it?

Umm, I apologize to Heath Payne, Adam Scott, and Rhett Rauthruss because Johnny Maverick's just become my favorite hockey hero in the Campus Nights series. There was always something about Maverick that made him stand out, but not necessarily in a stealing-the-limelight sort of way. The bits and pieces we get of him in the first three books did not prepare me for how sweet and swoony he turned out to be. I loved how he loved Dakota. Their personalities just gelled so darn well together, and they were there for each other, especially considering everything they went through that summer in Minnesota...and one other place, but I'm not going to say anything more about it because hello, spoilers. What I will say is that Wild Love was the series ender I didn't realize I needed but turns out I wanted. Five stars for this, and I can't wait for the spin-off series!
