Review: Beauty and the Badge by Ella Fox (Charlotte's Cove #1)

Bestselling author Ella Fox's Beauty and the Badge is the first novel outside of the Happily Ever Alpha book universe published by Boom Factory Publishing, the independent publishing house spearheaded by fellow bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds and Reynolds's husband, Sedaka Reynolds. It also happens to be the first book in Fox's new Charlotte Cove series, and it's the story of a woman who moves from the big city to a small town and may end up finding the love of her life, if only they'd both open their hearts to see this is one risk worth taking.
Being held up at gunpoint gives Ashley Colton a major wake-up call that has her leaving behind the big city and retreats to a small town by the seaside called Charlotte's Cove, the same place where she enjoyed summer vacations with her family. She feels like she's finally home, and Ashley is hopeful. Then she meets her new boss, Tyler Jameson, aka the police chief. The chemistry between them is strong, but neither one is ready to dive right in, choosing to test the waters first. When Tyler's past returns and Ashley retreats, will he finally go all in or back off?
This was such a strong beginning to a brand new series! I love small town romances, and this book was the epitome of the sort of small town romance that I adore reading because the author adds her own creative touches to the story to nudge it beyond the norm. Both Ashley and Tyler charmed the heck out of me, and this happens to have a cast of supporting characters and a great town that have me wanting to pack my bags and moving to Charlotte's Cove. Since it's all fictional, I'll settle for even more books instead! Five stars for Beauty and the Badge. ♥
