Review: Your Inescapable Love by Layla Hagen (Bennett Family #4)
Note: This ARC was provided by InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.
Your Inescapable Love is the fourth novel in bestselling author Layla Hagen's Bennett Family series, a well-loved fan favorite. Book four turns the spotlight on Max Bennett and Emilia Campbell, who were best friends as kids until Emilia had to move away. When they meet again many years later, that spark of friendship is still very much there, but this time around, there's something more, something neither one of them is totally sure if they should risk exploring it or not. After all, Max has always preferred hassle-free, no-strings-attached affairs with women, not ready to settle down, focusing instead on the family business he's helped grow. On the other hand, Emilia's last relationship ended with a ring...until it had an epilogue that ended with a jilting, and she was the one on the receiving end. She has no intention of falling for someone or into another committed relationship any time soon. With their rekindled friendship throwing a heavy dose of undeniable attraction and chemistry into the mix, how long will Max and Emilia be able to keep their hands--and hearts--from each other and become more than friends?
I do love me my friends-to-lovers romances, and this particular one was told exceptionally well. Max and Emilia were best friends that led separate lives when Emilia moved away, and years pass before their paths cross again. They're no longer the kids they once were. Nope, they're now adults who just happen to look exceptionally hot. And when they finally do get together? Hello, they end up becoming even hotter! It's a fairly lighthearted read with just a bit of angst and drama because we all need some of that in our lives once in a while. I always find it fascinating to read about friendships that transition into that "something more", but here, it's a case of two friends who have been apart for a while, so the dynamic is a tad different, making for a more interesting read. The Bennetts are the kind of family you can never get enough of, so while you can read Your Inescapable Love as a standalone, I'm encouraging you to read the series in order, especially if you love a contemporary romance series that revolves around one particular family, as is the case with the Bennett Family. This latest release gets five stars. ♥
