Review: Perfect Wreckage by Catherine Cowles (Wrecked #2)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR.
Perfect Wreckage is the second novel in Catherine Cowles's Wrecked series, and goodness, but how it, indeed, leave me wrecked but in all the best ways possible. This is the story of Kenna Morgan's story, one she shares with Crosby McCoy. If there's one thing the past has taught Kenna, it's better to be safe than sorry. So she guards her heart and doesn't take unnecessary risks. Sure, that may make her life unexciting, but it's what helped her feel secure. And then Crosby kissed her, and it was a kiss that would become the impetus that propels her life in a direction she hadn't considered turning towards. Crosby makes Kenna want to take chances, to push her boundaries, and he promises to be by her side every step of the way. But what happens when her past grabs hold, refusing her a future?
Just like the series starter that came before it, this second Wrecked book had that great blend of romance and suspense that Catherine Cowles continues to make her niche (totally can't use the other word that rhymes with this for fear of my review not passing muster on e-retailers). This author has a way with words, and I'm just glad I get to be one of many who read them and experience the stories that she shares with her readers. I loved how Kenna and Crosby were in a holding pattern in their respective lives, and all it took was one unforgettable kiss to nudge them forward. I enjoyed seeing them build a relationship, one founded on love, trust, and respect. Cowles has yet to disappoint with this series, and I, for one, cannot wait for much more. Five stars go to Perfect Wreckage.
