Review: Ignite by Kim Loraine (Everyday Heroes World)

Kim Loraine is a new-to-me author and Ignite is my introduction to her writing! This also happens to be her contribution to the multi-authored Everyday Heroes World that is a collection of stories inspired by K. Bromberg's Everyday Heroes series. Loraine's book is also a spin-off of her Ryker Ranch series, and yes, I added those books to my never-ending to-be-read list as soon as I was done reading the new book.

Ignite is the story of a cowboy firefighter named Travis Ryker and a college student named Lark Long. He's thirty-five and has moved from Sunrise, Montana after divorcing his cheater of a wife. She's twenty-one and has lived all her life in Silver Lake, California. His life is in transition, and hers is on pause; neither one wants to dwell on the past, but could there be a possibility of a future for these two together?

I do love a well-written age-gap romance, particularly one that has the level of complexity that Lark and Travis's story has. Both main characters have gone through quite a bit of upheaval in their respective lives, but when their paths cross, there's just something about their connection that made me sit up and take notice. They were such a strong couple, and I enjoyed reading their story. Ignite receives four stars.
