Review: Whatever It Takes by Stephanie Smith (Try Again #4)

Note: This ARC was provided by Between the Sheets Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Whatever It Takes is the fourth novel in the Try Again contemporary romance series from author Stephanie Smith, but it can be read as a standalone. The title is apt for the situation that female main character Georgia Armstrong is in. She wants to have a baby the old-fashioned way but isn't interested in being in a relationship. So, she's prepared to do whatever is necessary to get what she wants, even if it means finding the right guy and convince him to agree to what she has planned. Everything is going to be put on paper so that there aren't any issues. Sex is nothing more than a way for her to get pregnant. Straightforward, no string attached, wham, bam, you're (hopefully) pregnant, ma'am! But nothing in life is ever that simple. Not when the guy is Henry Marsh--who never wanted a wife or a child--and not when very real feelings get in the way. Now, everything is more complicated than either Georgia or Henry anticipated. Or maybe it was always complicated and now fate is putting things in place?

I quite enjoyed reading this fourth in a series! Georgia and Henry were an easy couple to like and while people think that this particular pairing may not make sense, they actually kinda-sorta did when you look at everything in hindsight. This was a lighthearted read with a couple moments that had my heart squeezing tightly in my chest. I'm one of those people who believes that emotions do tend to get involved when it comes to sex. There's a certain level of intimacy that's involved as well as a degree of trust that comes into play, what with you sharing a part of yourself with someone else, even if it is for a limited or agreed upon amount of time. Separating feelings from the act itself is way harder than people think, but maybe that's just me. Maybe it is possible for some people to not become emotionally involved when they're physically involved, but clearly, that wasn't the case for Georgia and Henry. Fortunately, things seemed to happen they were really supposed to. I'm giving Whatever It Takes four stars. ♥
