Review: Old Fashioned by Kandi Steiner (Becker Brothers #4)

I'd just like to say that I'm grateful Kandi Steiner didn't make readers wait too long for the fourth and final (gasp!) book in her Becker Brothers series. Old Fashioned was the one I was most anxious for, not only because we were going to get the eldest Becker brother's story, but also because we were finally going to get answers as to what really happened the night the Becker patriarch, John, died in a fire and who was behind it. So yep, I may have been a wee bit excited to read this, and boy, that excitement was not misplaced!
Old Fashioned gives readers the much awaited story of Jordan Becker, who at thirty-three was the oldest among the four Becker brother's and was the coach for the two-time football state champions, the Stratford High Wild Cats. When Sydney Clark joins his staff as the new trainer, he has a feeling the divorced mother of a football-crazy daughter would be a distraction to his hormone-driven players. Sydney turned heads back in high school, and moreso now, but a possessive ex and a secret journal may bring complications to many lives.
I loved the romance and I loved the intrigue! I mean, there's only ever been one suspect in my mind since I started reading this series, and my suspicion turned out to be right, but their motivation surprised me. There was a couple or so more twists, making an already great read even better. Both Jordan and Sydney were amazing main characters and they were courageous individuals who deserved the beautiful happy ending that they got, as well as for the Beckers for finally getting the justice that evaded them for far too long. Bonus points for Sydney being half-Filipino! Five stars! 🖤
