Review: Biker Beauties: Volume 2 by Audrey Carlan (Biker Beauties #3-#4)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions.

Audrey Carlan returns with the second volume of her Biker Beauties series, and this contains the third and fourth books, Biker Brit and Biker Boss, respectively. The former is the story of Theodore Bradshaw, aka Tank, and Holly Hatfield, Tank being the Hero's Pride motorcycle club's Sergeant-at-Arms and Holly the town librarian. These two were clear from the get-go that what they were going to enter would have no strings attached to it. They may have wanted to keep it casual, but both wanted more than a one-time thing. When the opportunity for a repeat comes along, they take it...again...and again. Tank and Holly's story is that classic case of wanting a one-time thing only but then needing far more each and every single time they give in to that urge to be together. These two were memorable as supporting characters, and now that they have their own story to tell, they've proven to be the sort of main characters that are easy to cheer on. They're sexy as a couple, but also happen to be sweet. There's an element of suspense with an over-arching storyline continuing from the first volume. I'm giving Biker Brit 4.5 stars.

The fourth Biker Beauties story has to do with Derek Layton, aka Champ, an enforcer for Hero's Pride, and Tammy Hamilton, an undercover police officer. Things come to a head here with regard to the aforementioned story arc within the series. In order to gather much needed intel and finally solve the case involving the Hero's Pride's women, Tammy is tasked to go undercover and pretend to be Champ's Ol' Lady. He's very protective of her, and it becomes obvious that these two share an intense connection. I loved these two together, and given Tammy's traumatizing past with her ex-husband, all the more that Champ wants to show her how deserving she is to be cared for and given the world. Both books in this second volume bring with them a heavier feel, both in terms of the series' story arc as well as the back stories involving the main characters. Everything played out with more intensity compared to the first two books, which can be found in the first volume, but that's not to say that volume one wasn't a good read. I really liked Audrey Carlan's take on the MC romance genre, and Biker Boss gets 4.5 stars. ♥
