Review: Depraved by Trilina Pucci (Sinful #3)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR.
Depraved is the awaited third novel in Trilina Pucci's dark romance series, Sinful, and it's every bit as damned decadent as I expected it to be. This is Dante Sovrano's story, and this man knows what it's like to have all the power in the world and have almost every single thing he wants at his beck and call...except for Sarah London. She's a take charge of woman, which is why she's effective in her position at Church, the private club that Dante and his brothers own. She's more than aware of Dante's interest in her, but she's pretty sure that the man is a Dominant, whether it be inside or outside of the bedroom. He's the head of his family and he's the head of the mafia--and the mafia IS family. He doesn't take orders from anyone, and Sarah is her own woman, the need to be independent and assertive brought about from the life she ran away from eight years ago. Maybe one night with together will satisfy Sarah's tamped-down submissive desires, but Dante knows it won't be enough to quell his need to possess her. When Sarah's past comes calling, it may be the perfect opportunity to lay claim on what's his.
Oh, the sexual tension in this one was off the charts! Seriously, Dante and Sarah could give a master class to other couples on what tension is--the good, the bad, and the oh-so-hot. There's also a whole different kind of tension that goes on courtesy of the secrets that Sarah's been keeping. With her past catching up to her, she learns that allowing herself to get closer to Dante and his family brings the danger that's followed her closer to them as well. From the relationship between Dante and Sarah to trying to put an end to the threats against them, it all made for quite an exciting read. While their story can be read as a standalone, I'm going to recommend that all the currently available Sinful books be read in order--Truth, Worship, and Depraved--so as to have a better understanding of the dynamics and back history involved within the family. But, like I mentioned, Dante and Sarah's story can be read as a standalone and then you can choose to go back and read the first two books--both of which happen to be excellent reads--so feel free to go either way. Five stars for Depraved, and now the wait begins for the fourth book. ♥
