Review: Recourse by M.N. Forgy (Sin City Outlaws #4.5)

If you've missed Zeek DeLuca and Jillian Adams, well, hang on to your santa hats because M.N. Forgy's got a Christmas novella that's all about our favorite outlaw and sheriff. Recourse finds Jillian continuing to do her job as a law enforcement officer even if she is the recipient of some bullying on the part of others in the department. She and Zeek know that they need to keep certain parts of their worlds separate, if only to protect Jillian from any blowback, especially since working law enforcement has always been her dream. But when the very real possibility that something Zeek and the Sin City Outlaws MC is involved in may lead to him missing their twins' first ever Christmas, Jillian may have to choose between the job she was made for and the man who owns her completely.
While it isn't absolutely necessary that you read the entire series in order to enjoy this holiday story, I'm going to recommend that, at the very least, you read the first two novels, Reign and Mercy, since these are the ones that are about Zeek and Jillian. Recourse is a really quick read, and it isn't exactly one that's all fluff either. Jillian is faced with a dilemma--her job or her man. Being the woman that she is, the choice isn't necessarily an easy one either. Aside from that, I loved seeing these two in full parental mode with their kids. It was sweet and gave the book that holiday feel. Now, this IS a Sin City Outlaws book, so there is a teeny, tiny bit of violence, but I wouldn't have expected anything less! Catch up with Jillian and Zeek this merry month in Recourse, which I'm giving five stars to. ♥
