Review: Bitten by Design by Annabelle Jacobs (Regent's Park Pack #2)
Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Signal Boost Promotions in exchange for an honest review.
Bitten by Design is the second book in Annabelle Jacobs's M/M paranormal romance series, Regent's Park Pack. Book two features Sebastian Calloway, best friend to Jared Taylor (from the series starter, Bitten by Mistake) and Dr. Tim Walters, a shifter and the doctor for the Regent's Park Pack. Seb may have been attracted to Tim from the get-go, but the last thing Seb wants is to become romantically or sexually involved with a shifter. When Seb's safety is put at risk by rogue members of the Primrose Hill Pack, secretly nicknamed P-Pack by the Regent's Park Pack, Tim steps up, his need to protect the human he's wanted but knows he can never lay claim to stirred up. Tim and Seb decide to fake a relationship, one meant to put those who want to harm Seb off his scent. But with all the time they spend together, what was once nothing more than a friends with benefits arrangement feels like much more.
From the moment Seb and Tim met in the first book, there was already a connection of sorts that was made. Of course, with Seb's aversion to shifters and Tim's desire to find a true blue mate, it seemed that there was no future for these two. Well, hello, fake relationship. In books that carry the same theme, the ending tends to turn out the same--the main characters fall in love for real--but even though the guaranteed happy ending is in sight, I still found myself rather entertained by how Seb and Tim had to overcome all the complications that came along with a human-shifter relationship. Just like in the book before it, there appears to be a potential pairing introduced here, and I'm curious as to how it'll play out. You'll see why when you get to that part in the book, so get a reading. Bitten by Design can be read as a standalone, but I recommend you read the books in order. I'm giving it four stars. ♥
