Review: Jonah Bennett by Tijan (Bennett Mafia #1.5)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by 1001 Dark Nights Press via Social Butterfly PR.

Tijan takes readers back into the world of the Bennetts, which all began in March of 2019 in Bennett Mafia. While that book was about the second eldest--but eldest living--among the Bennett siblings, Kai, this new novella is turns its attention towards the youngest one. Jonah Bennett loves his family--Kai, Tanner, and Brooke--and he knows the businesses his older brothers are involved. He's made the conscious decision to separate himself from all of it, living a normal sort of life. All that changed when a stranger walked up to him and his fiancĂ©e, asked one simple question, and proceeded to kill her.

I was thrilled when I found out that Tijan was dipping back into this particular book universe of hers. I've wanted to know more about Kai Bennett's siblings ever since I read Bennett Mafia. Jonah is certainly an intriguing main character, and I enjoyed seeing the varying dynamics whenever the four siblings were together. Forensic technician Carson Dayley was interesting, although I wish the author had delved more into what made her tick and her back story. All in all, Jonah Bennett was entertaining, and I hope we haven't seen the last of the Bennetts. Four stars.
