Review: Very Merry Married by M. O'Keefe (Kringle Family Christmas #2)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Grey's Promotions.

M. O'Keefe's Very Merry Married is the second book in the multi-author Kringle Family Christmas trilogy, and it's my favorite among the three. This is Ethan Kringle's story; thirty-five-year-old Ethan being the middle child among three siblings. He's the one who chose to stay behind in their hometown of Salt Springs, Colorado while his older sister built a career in Manhattan and his younger brother dominated in the pro hockey league in Chicago. Ethan is planning to run for mayor, but with the family-owned inn struggling and their father recently breaking his leg, he's got a lot on his plate. And then Lexie Platzski shows up in Salt Springs, informing Ethan that they got married a year ago and asking him for a divorce. But Ethan's got a surprise of his own for his twenty-eight-year-old Vegas showgirl, vicious dog-toting, beauty of a bride--he has no intention of letting go.

I seriously enjoyed the heck out of this book! You would think that Ethan would have been more than okay with signing off on the divorce, but theirs was a once-in-a-lifetime connection, and I loved that he was going with his gut (and his heart, of course!). I also appreciated the fact that he was the only one among the siblings who stayed in their hometown. He was someone who was focused and organized, and all it took was a trip to Vegas to change his life, albeit he only experienced the effects of it a year later, which I found to be a creative take on the whole Vegas wedding angle. And then there's Lexie who absolutely adored. She was sassy and independent and spoiled her furbaby, Baby Girl, to bits. She was exactly who Ethan and his family needed, and I had a huge smile on my face by the end of this book. Very Merry Married easily gets 4.5 stars out of five stars.
