Review: Short Stack by Lily Morton

Ooh, but how I adored reading this collection of shorts from Lily Morton! If you're as big of a fan of her Mixed Messages and Finding Home series as I am, then Short Stack is a must read. She's put together everything from deleted scenes and chapters to extra that could only be found on her website and Facebook group, Lily's Snark Squad. Oh, and did I mention that she's added four brand-new short stories?! Fair warning, although I think it goes without saying: This short story collection is best appreciated if you've already read the aforementioned series, Mixed Messages (Rule Breaker, Deal Maker, and Risk Taker) and Finding Home (Oz, Milo, and Gideon). After all, the stories are about those characters.

I'm pretty sure many Lily Morton fans and readers have come across the bonus stuff in the past, but nothing is quite as convenient as having them as part of one collection. In my case, this was the first time I had read any of it. Having read and loved the full-length novels in the first two Morton series that I'd come across, revisiting them again felt like such an awesome bonus, or well, a bunch of awesome bonuses. Remembering what Gabe and Dylan, Jude and Asa, Henry and Ivo, Oz and Silas, Milo and Niall, and Gideon and Eli and catching glimpses of them by way of snippets from their stories was what I consider the best way I made use of a couple of hours this weekend. Short Stack clinches five stars!
