Review: Epoch by Jewel E. Ann (Transcend #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

“Because I’m not going to watch you self-destruct. I’m not going to watch you fall in love with another man. I’m not going to watch you be a mom to a child that’s not mine. You want the perfect proposal and the perfect wedding. But I just want you. Since the day we met, it’s been that simple for me. And I’ll take you with the souls of a million lives woven into yours. I’ll listen when you need me to listen, I’ll protect you when you’re scared, I’ll be whatever or whomever you need me to be … but I won’t be him.”

Nearly four days later, and I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that this exceptional duet has ended. Told from the points of view of twenty-one-year-old nanny Swayze Samuels, twenty-three-year-old mechanic Griffin Calloway, and thirty-six-year-old professor Nathaniel Hunt, Epoch is the conclusion to Jewel E. Ann's Transcend series. Swayze is caught between Griff and Nate, drawn to both men in ways that may leave others envious but has feeling torn. Swayze loves Griff. Swayze loves Nate. When the past and the present collide, will fate dictate where their stories will take them next, or do they hold futures in their hands and will decisions made lead to heartache?

You MUST read Transcend before jumping into Epoch, and while neither one is a quick read, trust me when I tell you that the time you put into this duet will be well worth it. I've always though of Jewel E. Ann as an author who refuses to be contained in any sort of niche, and she's pushed both her boundaries and those of her fans and readers with these two books. Whether you believe in destiny or are simply someone who knows how to appreciate an original and well-written love story, I highly recommend you give both Transcend and Epoch a shot. This duet is, hands down, one of the best that have been published this year, and I'm giving Epoch five-plus stars. ♥
