Review: One Wright Stand & Wright with Benefits by K.A. Linde (Wright Vineyard #0.5-#1)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) of Wright with Benefits was provided by the author via Wildfire Marketing Solutions. The prequel novella, One Wright Stand, is a personally owned copy.

Wright with Benefits is the eighth book in the Wrights series from K.A. Linde, and this time around, we've got the Wright cousins, beginning with Jordan Wright. His tale, however, actually begins with One Wright Stand, which is a prequel novella that lays the groundwork for the story he shares with Annie Donoghue. Now, you don't necessarily need to read the prequel in order to understand everything that plays out in this new full-length novel. It is, however, a good read that highlights the connection Jordan and Annie shared from the get-go. It also happens to be free on all e-retailers, so go snag it anyway.

Three years ago, Jordan Wright and Annie Donoghue had a one-night stand that felt like something far more monumental than either one had expected it to be. But mistakes were made on Jordan's end, ones he continues to regret all this time later. He may not be an expert when it comes to committed relationships, but he wants a shot at getting it right with Annie. On the other hand, she's not looking for anything permanent, not when she's leaving Lubbock in just a few months' time. But friends with benefits? That, she can do...

This was a wholly entertaining read, one that manages to distinguish itself from the original set of books focusing on the Wright siblings while still maintaining that feel found back then. Jordan and Annie made for an easily likable couple, and seeing that push and pull between them reiterated why they were so darn interesting. You know that these two aren't going to be able to keep things within the boundaries of "friends with benefits", not when the chemistry is as amazing as theirs. I enjoyed the journey they took because while they had challenges, they also realized that it was all worth it in the end. I'm glad we get this new branch of the Wright family. 4.5 stars go to Wright with Benefits.
