Review: Love Like Her by Claudia Burgoa (Against All Odds #3)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.
Love Like Her is the third book in Claudia Burgoa's Against All Odds, and while I've read a majority of her books, this marks my first read in the aforementioned series. Thankfully, this can be read as a standalone, even though there was that voice in my head telling me that I need to read the series in order because I'm just anal that way. The story that you find in this third book is about sharing that once-in-a-lifetime sort of connection with someone, yet the timing seems to be off for these two every single time their paths cross.
Eros Brassard and Olivia Sierra met in an airport when he was twenty-three and she was eighteen. A snowstorm results in a cancelled flight, and while all it seems to be is a hassle for other travelers, the incident becomes a turning point for the two strangers who have taken notice of each other and realize straightaway the connection they share. Their lives are forever change, but they allow their circumstances to win over their feelings. Over the years, their paths converge time and again, but it always seems as if something or someone gets in their way. Thirteen years after that first fateful meeting, Liv is hired as the wedding planner for Eros's best friend--the girl that got away. Or so Eros may think...
Ah, true love and soul mates... My heart went out to both Eros and Liv, because while there was no denying just how strong the connection they shared was, it was almost as if they could never get the timing right. But then Fate always finds a way, even if it means getting to that happily-ever-after will take a whole lot of effort and heartache. These two had things to experience and lives to lead, but they were clearly destined to be together, even if it did take quite a few years for them to get to that point. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Love Like Her, and now have the first two books on my TBR list. It gets 4.5 stars.
