Review: The Mogul and the Muscle by Claire Kingsley (Bluewater Billionaires #2)

The Mogul and the Muscle is the second standalone novel in the multi-authored Bluewater Billionaires series which flips the script, having the women as the main characters rolling in dough instead of the usual alpha males. This is also my second read from the author, Claire Kingsley, and even though my previous read was from a couple of years ago, I had pretty high expectations given that previous experience and with book one, Lucy Score's The Price of Scandal, being a great start to this series. While this was an okay read, it wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for.
There's no denying just how intelligent Cameron Whitbury. After all, she'd have to be in order to reach the level of success she has in the aerospace industry. But in a moment of weakness, she trusted the wrong man, allowing an intimate moment to be caught on camera. Now, it's come back to haunt her. Not only does she need to prevent a sex scandal to come to fruition but she also needs to remain safe from someone intent on doing her harm. This is where Jude Ellis steps in, but while he may protect her from threats, who will protect Cameron's heart from Jude?
I liked Cameron. I liked Jude. I liked them together. Unfortunately, liking them wasn't enough for me to become as emotionally invested as I'd hoped. I wanted there to be more--more development and more depth to both the main characters and their story. The Mogul and the Muscle was good enough, it simply wasn't at par to what I'd read before from Claire Kingsley, which was Book Boyfriend back in 2017. This gets 3.5 stars, but everyone's reading experience is different, so please don't let my review dissuade you from checking out this rom-com novel. ♥
