Review: Penny by Liz Meldon (Unbowed #2)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Enticing Journey Book Promotions.
Penny is both the second novel in the Liz Meldon-penned Unbowed erotic romance series and my second read from this particular author. Obviously, I was impressed with Meldon's writing the first go-around, so when the opportunity to read this book came along, I knew I had to snap it up. This does work as a standalone, so if you have yet to read the first book, Belle, you don't have to worry about missing any pertinent information between books.
Twenty-eight-year-old Dominatrix Penelope Bishop is known as the Ice Queen of Elysium for a reason. Penny bows to no one, but thirty-seven-year-old fashion designer extraordinaire Felix Renaldi knows better. He wants four fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, and Paris to prove to her that she can safely submit to him, and he's willing to pay her a million dollars for the privilege. Felix wants Penny's submission as much as he wants her heart.
I liked Belle, but Penny was definitely a notch above it, with such fine writing from Liz Meldon and main characters that inspires both empathy and admiration. While this book is definitely about kink, that's not the end all and be all of Penelope and Felix's tale. This was about embracing your truest self and knowing that there is someone who will accept you for who you really are. Penny had kink and romance and all the fabulous stuff in between. 4.5 stars. ♥
