Audiobook Review: Rule Breaker by Lily Morton, narrated by Joel Leslie (Mixed Messages #1)

This was, hands down, one of the best audiobooks I've had the pleasure of listening to this year. Lily Morton penned a fantastic story about a personal assistant falling in love with his commitment-phobic boss. There was snarky humor that may or may not have had me snort laughing a time or ten and chemistry so palpable that it felt as if these were real people I was quite emotionally invested in. I adored Dylan and Gabe and was every bit as heartbroken and hopeful as their story progressed.

Morton's fabulous writing was paired perfectly with the awe-inspiring narration of the forever gifted Joel Leslie, who is without a doubt, one of the best voiceovers around. His prowess seems to know no bounds, impeccably matching the ideal voice with each character. There's a reason why Leslie is as in demand a narrator as he is. All you have to do is listen to his vocal stylings here to see why.

Rule Breaker surpassed every single expectation I had set and then some. I'm already looking forward to listening to the next audiobook in the series and will try to patiently await the release of the third one, with fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later. Five-plus stars times ten. ❤️
