Review: Somehow Finding Us by Claudia Burgoa (Sinners of Seattle #4; Second Chance Sinners #2)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

The minute this sequel landed in my tablet, everything else in my life came to a halt. Ever since we were left with that darn cliffhanger in the first Second Chance Sinners book, Pieces of Us, I've been (im)patiently waiting to find out what happened, and voila! Somehow Finding Us gives readers answers and then some. Fair warning: If you've yet to read the first book in the duet, chances are high that you may come across a spoiler or two in this review. In short, this is me telling you that the books must be read in order, whether it be the Second Chance Sinners duet or the Sinners of Seattle series as a whole.

Somehow Finding Us picks up where Pieces of Us left off, and Ethan Killian and Zeke Hutchence find themselves in a limbo of sorts. My heart went out to both of them while reading this. I admired Zeke for needing to put himself first, especially given his addiction, but I also felt for Ethan because while he was finally ready to make a stand and put his relationship with Zeke ahead of everything else, it was Zeke who was no longer sure about having a future with him. Gah! But true love doesn't always come with a prepared schedule or to-do list, and these two needed to fight for what they wanted with and for each other. If any two people deserved a happily-ever-after, it was Ethan and Zeke. Their journey towards it may not have been easy, but theirs is a story of redemption, forgiveness, and being the best and most honest version of yourself. Claudia Burgoa had my expectations at a high after Pieces of Us; she met them handily. Five stars.
