Review: Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

R.S. Grey's latest release may have the title of Coldhearted Boss, but it had the feels that had me all warmhearted by the end. This book has an enemies-to-lovers feel to it, but then you can't exactly expect a guy to treat you like a queen and make you feel all warm and fuzzy after you've stolen his wallet while you were kinda-sorta-maybe making out in a public bathroom. Of course, when twenty-two-year-old Taylor Larson did what she did, the last thing she expected was to come face to face with the hot guy from the bar again, only this time, thirty-year-old Ethan Stone turns out to be her new boss! He hasn't forgotten her either, and not just because of what she did. The fact that he's still as drawn to Taylor as he was weeks ago at the bar makes things complicated, but Ethan decides that fate has thrown him a bone. She bruised his ego when she seduced him and did her bit of pickpocketing, and while she may have returned his wallet, she sure helped herself to his cash. Now that he's under his employ, Ethan'll teach Taylor a thing or two, but it looks like they both have lessons they need to learn...

Oooh, I loved how Ethan and Taylor kept each other on their toes once they were stuck in each other's company, not just on the construction site for Ethan's company's new project but also in the little cabin they shared. There was a whole lot of button pushing going on between these two and Ethan definitely earned the titular title he's been bestowed in this book. His ire towards Taylor was warranted to a degree, but keep in mind that there's a whole lot more to the story than you think. Naturally, I'm not going to divulge any of those things because spoilers are a no-go, but let's just say that Ethan and Taylor were rather stubborn at times and there's a reason why I'm considering this romance of theirs a slow burn and deliciously so! I was entertained by the back and forth and how they tried to find their footing in their unique non-relationship. Once the cold-hearted Ethan begins to thaw out, seeing how they navigate their way around their feelings for each other and being employer and employee gets all the more interesting and by the end, I was happily sated how it all wrapped up. Coldhearted Boss garners 4.5 stars. ♥
