Review: My Best Friend's Secret by Crystal Lacy

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Gay Romance Reviews ARC Team.

Originally released as a freebie, Crystal Lacy has added new content to My Best Friend's Secret, a friends-to-lovers story. Now, this is still a quick read, but it was high on both the sweet and steam factors. Yuki and Raysen have been best friends for years, and Yuki made the decision early on in their friendship to not cross the line, needing to ensure that their friendship remains intact and isn't muddled by their mutual attraction. What he doesn't realize, however, is that Raysen's feelings for him are far from platonic and he deals with it in a way that shocks Yuki but then intrigues him all the same. When the line is finally crossed, will be able to go back to way things were before?

This is certainly the first book I've read that involves a glory-hole. For those of you who have no idea what that is, feel free to Google it. I'll be right here. Done? Okay, so I don't want to give too much away, but suffice it to say that this is heavy on the sex, and if you prefer said sex to just be between the main characters, this may not be the read for you. However, allow me to point out that any sex outside of Yuki and Raysen occurs before they actually get together as a couple. So, there's no cheating of any sort. Even for such a short read, we get enough detail on both guys to feel like we kinda-sorta-maybe know them, which then opens the door to rooting for them to get to the happy ending they've been hoping for. My Best Friend's Secret is short, steamy, and sweet. and it receives 3.5 stars. ♥
