Review: Lighthouse Way by Kristen Proby (Huckleberry Bay #1)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR.

Kristen Proby's got a new series, and let me tell you, the series starter exceeded all my expectations! Lighthouse Way is the first novel in the Huckleberry Bay series, and while I'm guessing the rest of the books will share those small-town romance feels, book one's got a bit of paranormal goodness to it! This is Luna Winchester and Wolfe Conrad's love story, but it also serves as a truly great introduction to the bayside town of Huckleberry Bay and to the cast of characters that we'll be coming across throughout the entire series.

Stock car racing has always been Wolfe Conrad's passion, but when a career-ending crash leads him back to his hometown of Huckleberry Bay, he's forced to take stock of what the rest of his life is going to look like. What he doesn't quite expect is the impact Luna Winchester has on him. They were never really friends, more of two people with the shared tie of Wolfe being friends with Luna's brother. But the Luna Wolfe remembers is a far cry to the woman she's become. She's the keeper of the lighthouse, but could Luna also be the light that beacon him to finally feeling like Wolfe has found his truest home?

I absolutely enjoyed this series starter! It gave me more than I expected, and since I'm familiar with this author's writing, suffice it to say that I was expecting a lot. I loved that the series centered on the ideas of finding love and home in Huckleberry Bay. There was a connection between Luna and Wolfe, one that went beyond the physical, and I liked seeing them explore it but not necessarily rushing into anything without giving it some thought. Then there was the whole thing with Rose and the mystery behind her life, and I was quite fascinated by that as well. I can already see two couples in the offing, and I'm eager to read their stories going forward. Lighthouse Way was truly a five-star beginning.
