Review: Rushing into Love by Kara Kendrick (Peachtree Grove #1)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Foreword PR & Marketing.

Kara Kendrick is a new-to-me author, and my introduction to her writing also happens to be the first book in her new Peachtree Grove series. Rushing into Love is the story of Bree  Hart and Ryder McCauliffe. She's a twenty-nine-year-old relationship expert and he's a thirty-two-year-old retired professional football player turned physical therapist and Pee Wee football coach. After discovering her actor boyfriend is cheating on her, Bree flees California and heads to Peachtree Grove, Georgia to spend time with her sister, brother-in-law, and niece. When she meets Ryder, there's an instant awareness that sparks between them. The single father of a six-year-old son went through the wringer during his divorce, leaving him wary of putting his heart--and that of his son's--on the line again. Something about Bree has him eager to try, but will their respective pasts get in the way?

Ah, I seriously liked this series starter! It was a fairly lighthearted read, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know not only Bree and Ryder but certain noteworthy supporting characters that I hope will be getting their own stories. Second-chance romances are a favorite of mine, but what trumps that are romances that have the main characters getting their second chance at love and forever with each other because their first go-around with other people ended in some shape or form. Bree and Ryder had their chemistry down pat, but with their last significant relationships ending badly, seeing them come through all the hurdles before them as a new couple was part of what I loved about this book. Sweet and easy to read, Rushing into Love was a four-starred introduction to Kara Kendrick's style of storytelling and beginning to her all-new series.
