Review: Only One Night by Natasha Madison (Only One #3)

One of my favorite things about Natasha Madison's writing is the fact that she ends a previous book in a series with a cliffhanger. Wait, what?! Yeah, a cliffhanger, and while cliffhangers tend to be evil, and I've whined about them, the cliffies Madison has in her books are more of a teasing nature for the next book in the series. And I was teased beyond belief at the end of Only One Chance. That's what happens when one of the most intriguing main characters Madison has ever created is the next guy up, and the teasing and the wait was made oh-so-worthwhile with what is my favorite Only One novel so far.
On the outside, Manning Stevenson looks like a man who has it all. He's the captain of the Dallas Oilers, he's happily married to his wife, and he's got an amazing son in Jaxon. Okay, maybe that's a case of Two Truths and a Lie, but then, not everyone was aware of the fact that Manning's been trying to get his wife to sign off on a divorce for the past four years. But he's playing the long game, hoping that when Jaxon is a bit older, it'll all fall into place. Manning, however, never anticipated meeting the one person who would turn out to be game changer. His one night with Evelyn wouldn't be enough for either of them.
Oh, Manning... This guy has had my curiosity from the get-go, but after reading this book, he has my heart as well. I felt for him. Was he perfect? Nope, and I certainly don't condone cheating in general, but there's so much more to his story than that of an unhappy husband stepping out on his wife (who truly was the villain in this book). As for Evelyn, well, give me more of these strong-willed female main characters who have confidence but also a great deal of heart. Manning and Evelyn's love story consumed me, which is why Only One Night gets five stars. Now bring on Nico and Becca's book already!
