Review: Wanted Dead or in Love by Giulia Lagomarsino (Cortell Brothers #3)

I've been looking forward to reading Josh Cortell's book since he was mentioned in the series starter, and it certainly turned out to be one heck of an entertaining read. Wanted Dead or in Love is the third novel in Giulia Lagomarsino's Cortell Brothers series, and it answers the most pertinent questions that's been bugging readers (and the rest of the Cortell brothers) of the series: Where could Josh be and what could've happened to him? 

For the past seven years, Josh Cortell has been missing, but his family never lost hope they would see him again. When he shows up out of the blue toting a gun, however, it seems like he's got an interesting tale to share. How does he explain that he's been on the run with a woman he met the day he disappeared? How does he put into words that all that mattered was keeping the woman he loved alive? How can he make them understand that the woman he is devoted to is a liar when he doesn't understand either?

This was a story that kept me on my toes, and as a reader, that's something that I quite enjoy. Josh and Hannah's story was original and creative, which is not an easy feat to pull off with all the books that are published every single day. Giulia Lagomarsion, however, more than managed to do it, and she did so without sacrificing the entertainment factor. If you're new to the series, I highly recommend that you read the three currently available novels in order: Maintenance Required, Collateral Damage, and Wanted Dead or in Love. There are more books to come, so now is a great time to play catch up. 4.5 stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
