Review: Dirty Charmer by Emma Chase

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

Can a book possibly be both dirty and charming? Why, yes, yes, it can be, and deliciously so. After all, no one combines those two better than Emma Chase. Her newest standalone is a spin-off of her Royally series, but I'm reeeaaalllllly hoping that it's also just the first in a brand-new series, maybe one titled Dirty? Heck, I'm not even going to be picky about the series title. I simply want--no, need!--more books about the specialists who make up S&S Securities. I digress, but then that's what happens when I find myself smitten with a cast of characters that I'm already eager to get to know more about, so yes: more books, please and thank you, dearest author! Moving on...

Dirty Charmer is the story of Thomas Sullivan, former member of the royal protection team for Wessco's Prince Nicholas. He's now part-owner of S&S Securities alongside Logan St. James, and their latest client is the Dowager Countess of Bumbleridge, with Tommy tasked to watch over one of her granddaughters--and the only single one--Lady Abigail Haddock, aka Dr. Abby Haddock. She's the doctor who was attending to him when he ended up at her hospital's A&E Department--the same doctor he locked lips with that very same day. Tommy's a professional and has no plans of pursuing anything with Abby while he's her bodyguard. Come the end of his contract, however, he intends to do more with her body than just guarding it. They're complete opposites, but the one thing they may agree on is that neither is looking for anything permanent. It's all fun and games and real feelings come into play.

This is the sort of read that's perfect to lose yourself in. Emma Chase has paired up a blue-blooded lass determined to prove herself to her high-achieving family and the medical field and a red-blooded security specialist who's equally determined to dirty up the aforementioned lass and has come up with a highly likable twosome. The story itself carries with it the familiar vein of opposites attracting--two people from different parts of society with very different personalities--and delving into lust and finding love in the process, but that added touch of wit and Chase's own engaging writing made this a winner of a read. I seriously hope that we haven't seen the last of S&S Securities because the author has more than piqued my curiosity, so fingers crossed. 4.5 stars go to Dirty Charmer. ♥
