Review: Hard to Love by W. Winters (Hard to Love #1)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

I've been eager to read Seth King's story ever since I finished reading the Irresistible Attraction trilogy two and a half months ago, and W. Winters has rewarded me--and everyone else who needs their Seth fix--with an intense story of love, lust, and lies between Seth and the girl who becomes both his greatest strength and greatest weakness, Laura Roth. While there is no doubt as to the magnitude of what Seth and Laura feel for each other, the world Seth lives in isn't one that he would ever wish to expose the woman he loves to and with Seth not being vocal about how he feels, Laura is unsure as to what kind of future, if any, may be lying in wait for the two of them.

Okay, you know the drill--I am going to leave this review as spoiler-free as possible. What I will mention is that it does end in a cliffhanger and that the second book, Desperate to Touch, has a current release date of October 8th, so that's about a month and a half away. Seth and Laura's relationship seems both fated and doomed, but I still cheered these two on, even when things appeared to be so damn hopeless. Now, if you've already read the author's Irresistible Attraction books, you may have some idea where these two are in their relationship at present, but this first book in their own series takes readers back to the past, and seeing how they were eight years ago to how they are today has me even more anxious to get my greedy hands on book two! Five stars go to Hard to Love. ♥
