Review: Angel by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine (Fallen Angel #3)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the authors.

Le sigh. I've adored not only getting to know Viper and Halo but David Neil and Howard Olsen--aka their pre-rock star selves--as well. In the span of three novels, readers see what they're like when they're on stage and in the studio with the rest of the band and how these two are when it's just the two of them or surrounded by family. Their story culminates with Angel, the third book in the Fallen Angel series. Just a quick reminder: the books in this series MUST be read in order--Halo, followed by Viper, and lastly, Angel.

Fair warning: I may inadvertently mention something going forward in this review that may be considered spoilery if you haven't read the first two books--Halo and Viper--so no evil glares if you decide to proceed. Viper and Halo have declared their love for and to each other as well as the rest of the world, thanks to the paparazzi and social media. With Fallen Angel about to kick off their world tour, how will these two men handle the stress and pressure of expectations of not just the fans, critics, and record executives but that of being in a still new relationship that neither one of them had ever seen coming or even thought possible?

When it comes to Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine writing together, you can never tell where one ends and the other begins, and that's a testament to why their professional partnership works as well as they do. The sex is always hot enough to fog your reading glasses or the screen of your e-reader, but the romance is sweet and at times, there's a sentimentality that has me going "aww" as well. They've closed out this trilogy with their brand of heat and heart and bite of humor, and I was personally thrilled that the wait between books wasn't frustratingly long. Halo and Viper get their happily-ever-after--and a much-deserved one at that!--and Frank and Blaine have set things up quite nicely for Killian's story, which is up next. Five stars for Angel. ♥
