Ooh, it's been a good run so far when it comes to debut authors that have landed in my tablet! The latest is quite possibly one of my top favorites because her story made me smile and swoon and left me oh-so-satisfied by the time I was done reading. That author is B. Harmony and her debut novel is The B-Side, the first in her Perspective series. If you like your M/M romance sweet and sexy with wit and a smattering of angst, then look no further. Harmony may be a new author but she's clearly got the chops and her series starter is definitely a worthy story to take a chance on, I swear!

The B-Side is the story of two strangers who become housemates then friends and more. Now, that may seem like an over-simplification of what plays out in the book, but hey, I'm not going to spill every single detail because not everyone wants their reading experience to be messed with due to spoilers. What I can tell you is that the main characters are twenty-seven-year-old Tyler Denison, a freelance graphic designer and marketing consultant, and twenty-six-year-old Chance Arden, a middle school math teacher. Tyler is openly gay and crushing on Chance, which is a bad idea because not only do they live in the same house, but the guy's straight. Or maybe not.

From the moment I read that Craigslist ad of Tyler's, I was smitten with the guy, and I was eager to see how things would play out between him and Chance. I adored these two and I loved seeing how their relationship grew from strangers to so much more. This was a fairly lighthearted read, with the angst coming from Tyler's heartache when it came to his parents. The supporting cast of characters--from Chance's sister, brother-in-law, and nephews (Ella, Kyle, Mason, and Hudson, respectively), to Tyler's best friend--were endearing. I will say, though, that when the person who book two will be about was mentioned, my mind blanked. I only realized who he was after some time since he wasn't much of a presence past the halfway point. That aside, I seriously enjoyed reading Chance and Tyler's story from beginning till the end, which is why The B-Side gets five stars, and I'm excited to read even more from B. Harmony.
