Review: Flirt with Me by Kristen Proby (With Me in Seattle #17; The O'Callaghans #4)

Kristen Proby returns to her bestselling and beloved With Me in Seattle series and the O'Callaghans mini-series within that book universe with the newest release, Flirt with Me. This is a single parent romance featuring a recently retired mixed martial arts fighter with a teenage daughter and a real estate agent who changes their lives. At thirty-six, Hunter Meyers could still get in the octagon and come out of it the victor, but with his fifteen-year-old daughter, Rachel, getting into trouble more often, he knows the time has come for him to retire. He also realizes that what they need is a change of scenery, somewhere that doesn't have the bad influences in Rachel's life. The little island he's heard about seems like the perfect spot, and the flirty redhead working at the local pub piques his interest like no other. It turns out that thirty-four-year-old Maeve O'Callaghan isn't only a server at her family's business, but is Hunter's new real estate agent as well. He was only looking for a home, not love, but maybe with Maeve, Hunter can have both.
I loved seeing Maeve and Hunter go from flirty to forever! She's the fourth O'Callaghan sibling to find love, and just like her brothers before her, she was very much deserving of her happily-ever-after. Maeve was flirty but not overly so, friendly and independent and someone who truly loved her family. I think she was exactly who Hunter--and Rachel, for that matter--needed in his life. Seeing them almost seamlessly create their own family unit was endearing, as was the acceptance and support they received from their respective families and loved ones. There were mini hurdles they had to face, but those were all easily handled, and even the main complication wasn't anything too dramatic or nerve-wracking. Just like Maeve and Hunter's romance, this book was easy-breezy, the kind of read that you can relax with over a couple of hours. 4.5 stars go to Flirt with Me.
