Review: Tasty Mango by JJ Knight (Everything Tasty #1)

Note:  An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions.

JJ Knight's Pickle Family series from last year into this year has been one of my favorites--and it was what introduced me to this author's writing--but when all three Pickle brothers had found love, I thought everything had been said and done in that book world. Then Knight brought the sunshine back when I found out that there was a new novel with ties to that book universe! Here's the thing: Not only is Tasty Mango a spin-off of the Pickle Family trilogy, it's also a crossover from the Single Dad duet! Now, I have yet to read the latter, but after having read this new story and meeting the couple featured in that older series, I've already added both Single Dad books to my never-ending to-be-read list!

Tasty Mango is the story of Havannah Boudreaux and Donovan McDonald. She's the sister of Magnolia Boudreaux who is engaged to Anthony Pickle (Spicy Pickle, book three in the Pickle Family series); he's the brother of Dell Brant (Single Dad on Top and Single Dad Plus One). There's no denying that Havannah and Donovan are drawn to one another, but could there really be any hope of a relationship between a soon-to-be single mother with a wild streak and a globe-trotting single billionaire? Love could find a way...

Hilarity ensues with this book, but it delivers just as much of the sweet and steam, making this a true-blue romantic comedy read. The first date that Havannah and Donovan share sets the tone for the rest of the story, and not just in terms of the humor. Things are, indeed, complicated for this new couple, especially considering everything that was and is going on in their respective lives. Seeing these two navigate all the complexities while trying to remember the simple fact that they had very real feelings for each other made for a fab read, which is why it's truly easy to give Tasty Mango 4.5 stars.
