Review: Moments in Time by K.K. Allen (Camp Bexley #2)

We're back at Camp Bexley, and after the eldest among the Bexley brothers found love, we're on to the second eldest! Moments in Time is Jamison--with an i, not an e!--Bexley's story, and it's a romance with some second-chance and friends-to-lovers feels. For years, Violet Hart was Jamison's best friend, but what she didn't know was that his feelings for her went beyond friendship--feelings he never realized she reciprocated. But everything changed seven years ago, and Jami's and Violet's lives went in very different directions. Now, he's back to help however he can to make Camp Bexley the resort he and his brothers once believed it could be. When he crosses paths with Violet, it's in a way he never quite imagined. So much has changed with and between them, but one thing that hasn't is that Jami is prepared to do anything and everything for the only girl he's loved.

These visits to Camp Bexley keep getting better and better! Jami and Violet certainly had a lot of history. They may have been best friends, but they definitely skipped over the line between platonic and romantic more than once. The thing was, neither of them was willing to take the risk that would have had them confessing their feelings. What I did like was that they both went on with their lives during those seven years where neither of them had any sort of relationship with each other, and then when they did see one another again, they did have to get on some firmer footing if there was any hope for them to not only be friends again, but to finally pursue becoming more than friends. It was great seeing those familiar Camp Bexley characters who have already found their happily-ever-afters, and I look forward to more of those! 4.5 stars go to Moments in Time.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
