"I love you, Cameron. I have always carried you with me. When I was overseas, when I came back and saw your posts with Kaitlin on Facebook. I've wanted you all that time, and all that time I wanted to tell you, but only on this trip have I realized that I'm good enough, that I could be the one to make you happy. If you'll let me."

The Road to Frosty Hollow is a heartwarming love story between two men who have known each other for years, have had feelings they believed were one sided, and are now on a cross-country road trip from Seattle, Washington to a wedding in their hometown of Frosty Hollow, Vermont. Both Nicholas Sheridan and Cameron Bennett have faced down their own battles--Nick as a former Marine fighting a war and Cameron as a teen battling cancer. Nick made it out of active duty alive and Cameron has been in remission for years, but they both find themselves at respective forks in the road. Neither one of them expected that their roads would merge. Younger by two years, Cameron is Nick's sister's best friend, but that one kiss they shared ten years ago, when Cameron was a high school senior and Nick was on break from college, is one neither has ever forgotten. As they make their way to Vermont, truths are revealed, fears are shared, and feelings come back to life. But with so much change in both their lives, will Nick and Cameron's journey together have to come to an end when they reach Frosty Hollow?

Nick and Cameron's love story felt like it was a long time coming. These two had feelings for each other when they were younger, but maybe the timing was off and they needed to experience life apart in order to better appreciate the opportunity life was giving them when they were together during the road trip to Frosty Hollow. Both Nick and Cameron were so easy to like that it made falling for their story inevitable on my end. They could have probably driven from Washington to Vermont in a shorter period of time, but kudos to Kaitlin--Nick's sister and Cameron's best friend--for coming up with the ingenious plan of a road trip itinerary that wasn't just about spending more time together but also for both men to experience some relaxation and fun while facing challenges and decisions in their current lives. The Road to Frosty Hollow was a beautifully co-written slow burn romance which not only reiterates why RJ Scott is one of my favorite go-to M/M authors, but that Meredith Russell is as good at being an author as she is a cover designer. This one left me with a satisfied smile on my face and in my heart. Five-plus stars. ♥
