Review: Kissed in Paradise by Crystal Lacy (Valentine's Inc. #9)

Kissed in Paradise is my third read from Crystal Lacy--the first two being part of her ongoing Oahu Lovers series--and it's my favorite one from the author to date! This is a novella about Cary Jackson and Fei Li, two people who have known one another since they were children but were never really friends. The last they saw of each other was in high school, but it was one particular incident in the school locker room in their senior year that left an indelible mark on both of them. Fast forward ten years later and Cary is in Hawaii for a job interview but he's arrived a few days early at the suggestion of his best friend in order to get some much needed rest and relaxation. What he doesn't expect, however, is to find that his tour guide is actually an escort of sorts who'll be his constant companion throughout his stay--and that tour guide is none other than Fei. Their reunion could be life-changing...
I've read Crystal Lacy's Oahu Lovers books, and one of my favorite things about those books is how she makes it so easy to envision this paradise that's on my bucket list of places to visit. She's done it again with this quickie of a read and she's created this sweet and sexy story about two men who were each other's high school crush and may very well find true love this time around. This was wonderfully paced, and let's face it, a lot of novellas and short stories suffer from overly fast pacing and a lack of character or story development. Thankfully, this book ticked every single thing on my check list and then some. Cary and Fei seemed like an unlikely couple on the surface, but once I started to get to know them better, they were like puzzle pieces that clicked into place when they were together. I absolutely adored Cary and Fei and love story made my heart feel full. Five stars for Kissed in Paradise. ♥
