Review: A Real Man: Volume Two by Jenika Snow (A Real Man #4-#6)

A Real Man: Volume Two is the second collection of three novellas from author Jenika Snow from her A Real Man series. The stories included here are Experienced, Roommate, and Arrogant, each of which I was able to read and review when they were released individually. Volume two includes holiday snippets for each of the novellas in the series and with the average of the ratings for the three stories plus the bonus holiday stuff, this one gets four stars.

Experienced is a May-December story between fifty-year-old Hugo and twenty-one-year-old Sabine. Hugo is close family friends with Sabine's parents and watched her grow up, both forming an attachment to one another that went beyond anything familial over time. This was my least favorite among the story. It had potential but fell apart when it became more about sex than an actual romantic and deeper connection. I gave this one three stars. Sorry.

Roommate has a hint of taboo to it, with step-siblings harboring feelings for each other but don't do anything about it...until their parents end up divorcing, negating their being tied together as siblings. When they become roommates, sharing a home and being around each other constantly makes it difficult for them to pretend they aren't in love with each other and while the story is nothing new, I liked how it played out, so this one got 4.5 stars.

Arrogant is an office romance that had a wealthy CEO named Noah wanting to be more personal than professional with his intern, Harley. This was more insta-lust than insta-love and that made it feel more believable, especially since it allowed both main characters to develop their feelings over time. This last story in the collection received four stars and holiday tales from all six A Real Man novellas was a festive touch with Christmas around the corner. ♥

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
