Review: Penthouse Variations on Three-Ways by the Editors of Penthouse Variations

Countless individuals and couple have fantasized about what it would be like to be part of a threesome. Whether you're in a relationship or not, the idea of literally having an extra body in bed with you--or wherever you choose to have the threesome--is a tantalizing prospect. Of course, if you happen to be in a relationship, there's always that added complication of whether or not both parties are open to even the suggestion and how it'll affect said relationship. To some, a three-way is a taboo, but to others, it's a fantasy that may very well be an attainable one.

The editors of Penthouse Variations delve into threesomes and have compiled an entertaining collection in their Penthouse Variations on Three-Ways anthology. There's a varied selection between the covers--literally and figuratively. Some of the three-ways here involve committed couples looking to make a fantasy come to life while there were those who were just starting out or were merely in it as friends. I liked that there were M/F/M as well as M/F/F stories, and that the stories had a more playful feel to them than overly heavy angst-driven dramafests.

With nineteen stories, this multi-authored anthology makes for a pretty good read as long as you don't expect thought-provoking or emotion-inducing moments. It is what it is and that is a collection of stories focused on people who engage in three-ways. The stories themselves are well-written and get on with the "dirty deed" as soon as possible. If you're after titillation, then you've got a good selection with Penthouse Variations on Three-Ways. It's an anthology, so you can pick and choose which ones to read now and save the rest for later. 3.5 stars. ♥
