Review: Call It Reckless by M.E. Montgomery (Sterling Mill #2)
Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the publisher via Grey's Promotions.
We're back in the town of Sterling Mill with the second book in M.E. Montgomery's series with the same name. Call It Reckless is a single-parent romance and features Bristol Allen, cousin to Emalee Dawson from the series starter, Call It Fate. After two life-changing accidents, one of which took the life of her beloved father, Bristol decides to leave behind the world of racing to head back to the town she grew up in--Sterling Mill, Tennessee. Being able to be closer to the only family she has left and make a home out of the house her grandmother left her gives her hope as she starts over. Opening her own garage with a bit of a twist will allow her to make use of the skills she honed while working with her father. Everything seems to be on track for Bristol...except Reid Braxton could be an unexpected hurdle. He calls her reckless, and maybe he's right because falling for him and his amazing daughter, Lexi, has her considering taking a truly life-changing detour.
This series is turning out to be an addictive one, thanks to the great writing from M.E. Montgomery, who was a new-to-me author prior to me starting the Sterling Mill series. I loved Bristol and Reid together! From the moment these two meet, I knew they were going to have a zinger of a story. The banter was highly entertaining, and I seriously enjoyed seeing these main characters fumble and stumble their way to the realization that they may actually be perfect for each other. There's some suspense thrown into the mix, making for an even more enticing read, which is why Call It Reckless snags 4.5 stars.
