Review: Possession by T.M. Frazier (Perversion #2)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR.
WHY?! Gah! Whoever invented cliffhangers should be...well...thrown off a cliff! Not T.M. Frazier, though, since, well, I love reading her books and I need more, especially the third one in this ridiculously addictive Perversion trilogy of hers! I'm on pins and needles and there isn't a release date yet on book three, so I don't know how long I've got before I go absolutely nutty waiting to find out what happens next to Grim and Tricks! Can you tell how I'm already unraveling and going a wee bit bonkers by the fact that I've used too many exclamation points in this introductory paragraph of mine? Well, not counting that last one since it's a question mark...plus this sentence too.
Possession picks up where the series starter, Perversion, left off, and having said that, this is the point in the review where I'm going to tell you that this needs to be read in order. None of the books are standalones. Now, back to the review...which isn't going to be all that detailed since there are a whole lot of twisty things that happen in the story and I refuse to go all spoilery no matter how tempted I am to explain exactly why I'm obsessed with this trilogy. After all, there must be a reason to my madness, right? But I can't go into it. Suffice it to say that Grim and Tricks get knocked down more than once, but if there's anyone who does know how to get back up, it's these two.
T.M. Frazier's writing--and I'm basing this comment of mine on the books that I've read, since I have yet to read the author's entire back list...which I'm working on!--has this thing about it that makes whatever's happening on the page almost feel palpable. Grim and Tricks do not have an easy go of it and their circumstances make it more than obvious that if they're going to have a happy ending, they're going to have to fight tooth and nail for it. Speaking of not having read most of Frazier's past work, I'm assuming that some of the characters that pop up here are from there. Like I needed far more incentive to make headway on my to-be-read list! Waaah! Five stars go to Possession. ♥
