Review: All I Want for Christmas...Is My Sister's Boyfriend by Brooke Blaine & Ella Frank

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the authors.

Awww! I love holiday romances, but I'm also really picky since they're seasonal. I need to feel both the romance and the actual holiday, like the story wouldn't have worked as well had it been some typical period of time on the calendar. Well, the bestselling writing duo of Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank brought just the right amount of naughty and nice and a whole lot of romantic comedy goodness in time for the Christmas season--which begins here as soon as September 1st rolls in--and it was every bit of Christmasy romance plus an unexpected but welcome dash of Christmasy magic that I could have wished for and hoped our dear ol' Santa would leave for me on my e-reader.

All I Want for Christmas...Is My Sister's Boyfriend is a holiday romance novella that features twenty-five-year-old Miles McAllister, who readers meet just as he's doing some heavy-duty last-minute Christmas shopping with his best friend. Who'd have ever thought that as he's wrapping up his shopping, he finds something he wants for himself--a hot guy who literally knocks him off his feet. Fate seems to be on Miles's side when he bumps into the same guy again, and this time around, he actually gets twenty-nine-year-old Aiden Mahoney's name. The chemistry's there and the attraction is very much mutual, so the third time they see each other should be the charm. At least that's what Miles thought until that third time happens to be in his family home with Aiden being introduced to him as none other than his sister's boyfriend. Christmas is about to go from ho, ho, ho to oh hell no!

Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank released a pre-Valentine romance in late January and just a little over eleven months later, fans and readers of the two are squeeing in delight with this pre-Christmas short! From the moment we meet Miles to their meet-cute and then realizing that Aiden is involved with his older sister and how all that is resolved, I was absolutely smitten by this holiday read. There's quite a bit of holiday humor and the sugar and spice--aka the sweet and the steam--making for a lighthearted yet enticing story. Aside from the two, I need to note Miles's family and his best friend, all of whom brought even more humor and the always necessary heart to this story. Whether you've been bad or good, you'll need All I Want for Christmas...Is My Sister's Boyfriend for the holidays. Five stars! ♥
